Legacy in Action

Joshua Kaleb Watson Foundation,

The Joshua Kaleb Watson Foundation was established with the mission of promoting the safety and security of American men and women in uniform. Watson was a courageous, honorable, and dedicated naval officer whose life was tragically cut short in the 2019 NAS Pensacola terrorist attack. The foundation was created to honor his legacy by advocating for concrete changes to be implemented into policies, programs, and initiatives that protect and support service members.

Scholarships

The Joshua Kaleb Watson Foundation supports youth who exemplify Ensign Watson’s dedication by offering a $1,000 scholarship to an Enterprise High School student, in partnership with the Wigman Club. JROTC Cadets are invited to apply annually.

Recently, the foundation, Walther Arms, and the Civilian Marksmanship Program awarded a $10,000 Watson Grant to Ms. Elyssa Vasquez for college. Ms. Vasquez has shown outstanding marksmanship skills, selflessness, and dedication to her community and classmates. The award was presented at the JROTC National Air Rifle Finales hosted in Sandusky, Ohio.

Strings 4 Heroes

Strings 4 Heroes is a program that provides music instruction and mentorship to service members and veterans. Kaleb’s father, Ben, volunteers with Strings 4 Heroes, offering free music instruction and support to our country’s heroes. The program helps our veterans leverage the power of music as a therapeutic tool in finding peace, healing, and recovery.
